HummingHearts Cafe (Logo & Branding)
HummingHearts Nature Cafe in Austin is a place to bask in the wonders of migrating Texas wildlife, like hummingbirds and monarch butterflies, with a sweet treat or drink in hand. No one has to travel to a distant park or rural area to experience these marvels. The challenge for this project was creating a logo and brand that appeals to the target audience of younger folks who might not have access to green spaces in their lives.

Reflection
I’m proud of how this project turned out. I loved being able to bring to life a concept that I think is so needed in the world right now-pollinators need our support, and people need a place to relax and unwind that’s affordable and gives them access to green spaces.
I also enjoyed being able to work more with type manipulation and creating custom letterforms. After getting feedback that the logo doesn’t scale down well, it was cool to experiment with using the hummingbird and the “H” as separate branding elements. I think I could improve that aspect of the branding in the future.
