HummingHearts Cafe (Logo & Branding)
For this project, I designed a logo and brand identity for HummingHearts Nature Cafe in Austin. The cafe invites visitors to enjoy sweet treats and drinks while experiencing the beauty of Texas wildlife, such as migrating hummingbirds and monarch butterflies.
Target Audience: Younger folks who may not have regular access to green spaces.
Challenge: Creating a brand that feels inviting and approachable for this audience.
Reflection
I’m proud of how this project turned out. I loved being able to bring to life a concept that I think is so needed in the world right now-pollinators need our support, and people need a place to relax and unwind that’s affordable and gives them access to green spaces.
I also enjoyed being able to work more with type manipulation and creating custom letterforms. After getting feedback that the logo doesn’t scale down well, it was cool to experiment with using the hummingbird and the “H” as separate branding elements. I think I could improve that aspect of the branding in the future.
